Community Events
The yard sale is typically held in the fall, usually September. It is held indoors at Kramer Center to prevent inclement weather from becoming a nuisance. A member can reserve up to two 8 foot tables for a small fee. The sale could run Thursday-Sunday and will be advertised on the website and by signage on 10 Mile Rd. Members only for selling but open to the public for buying.
The parties are generally for Halloween and Christmas with an occasional “Field” party. We take donations from the membership to help fund the activities at all the parties.
If a member wishes to attend the field party they would sign up in the office and indicate a dish they would like to bring to pass. Donation envelopes are placed in the 13 Streets along with a donation box on the counter to help raise funds for the Halloween and Christmas party.
Halloween usually consists of a trunk or treat style event, a march around the field to display proud costumes, returning to the Kramer Center for activities such as arts and craft tables, ghoulish games, and a hotdog with snack and drink.
The Christmas party is very similar with arts and crafts, cookies, chocolate fountain, hot chocolate, pizza, raffle and an appearance from old Saint Nick himself, Santa is escorted to the Kramer Center via Fire Truck by CLPS where he exits the truck to do our annual tree lighting. Afterwards will go into the Kramer Center where he will take requests from children of all ages and pass out gifts.
